A New Light for Vision Loss
Nearly 20 million U.S. adults have macular degeneration, a progressive eye disease that can rob them of clear central vision.
This loss can make it difficult to read, drive, or recognize faces. The damage caused by macular degeneration was once permanent and irreversible.
That era is over.
A Breakthrough,
Non-Invasive Treatment
Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to energize and repair retinal cells—helping improve and maintain vision.
No Needles or Surgery
Sit comfortably—treatment takes under 10 minutes.
FDA-Authorized
First-ever approved treatment to improve vision in dry AMD patients.
Targets the Root Cause
Boosts cellular energy (ATP) to support healing and resilience.

What is Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)?
AMD is a progressive eye disease affecting the macula — the central part of the retina responsible for sharp, detailed vision. It is the leading cause of serious vision loss in adults over 55, affecting over 20 million Americans. There are two types of AMD affecting Americans today:
Dry AMD (90%)
Light-sensitive cells in the macula slowly break down. Fatty protein deposits called drusen accumulate under the retina. Progresses gradually over years.
Wet AMD (10%)
Abnormal blood vessels leak fluid under the retina, causing faster, more severe vision loss. Wet AMD can develop as a result of dry AMD.
What is Photobiomodulation (PBM) Therapy?
PBM therapy uses specific wavelengths of LED light to stimulate the natural energy and healing processes inside your retinal cells. The Valeda® Light Delivery System (Alcon) is the first and only FDA-authorized treatment to improve vision in patients with dry AMD (authorized November 2024). It has been used safely in Europe since 2019, with over 800,000 treatments performed worldwide.
No needles.
No surgery.
No recovery time.
The Valeda device uses three carefully chosen wavelengths of LED light. Each one penetrates to a different depth in your eye and activates different healing processes in your retinal cells. Think of it as giving your cells a precise, targeted energy boost exactly where it is needed most.

Attend a Free Seminar
Experiencing better vision is easier than you might think. Attend one of our free Macular Degeneration and PhotoBiomodulation seminars in person or online. Each seminar offers an in-depth look at the disease and how the Valeda system can turn back the clock. Seminars also include an opportunity to speak with one of our ophthalmologists to ensure all of your questions are answered.
Treatments have been successfully performed worldwide. We look forward to matching that number right here at home.
Individuals suffering from age-related macular degeneration have recovered a significant amount of their vision.
Sessions over 3-5 weeks is all it takes to get started. Each visit is quick, painless, and easy to fit into any schedule.

Questions?
We have answers.
Is it painful?
No. Completely painless. You see flashes of colored light but feel nothing. No numbing drops needed.
Are there side effects?
PBM has an excellent safety record. A brief mild afterimage — like looking at a bright light— may occur. It fades within minutes. No serious side effects were found in trials.
Could I develop wet AMD?
Any dry AMD patient can develop wet AMD over time. Your doctor will monitor you at each visit. Effective injection treatments are available if wet AMD occurs.
When will I notice improvement?
Many patients notice improvements in visual clarity within weeks of their first series. Full benefit typically builds over several months of treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
You will receive 9 sessions over 3–5 weeks for your first series, then a repeat series will be required every 4 months. Each visit takes less than 10 minutes.
Will insurance cover it?
PBM therapy has a billing code (CPT 0936T), but coverage varies. Ask your provider's office about your plan and any out-of-pocket costs before starting.
